HOW TO OVERCOME SUICIDE AMONG UNIVERSITIES' STUDENTS IN MALAYSIA

Assalamualaikum,friends..

First of all,I want to apologize to both of you because I took a long period to post my part..I have some emergency tasks that must be settle down by last week..I'm sorry,friends..I'm sorry

OK...leave the sadness behind..
Before I go through with my part,I proud to praise my friends' job..
Well done guys!!!
Both of you really make me proud to become your group mate..Thank God because give me such good friends who done their work perfectly,on time and without any complaint...Thank you very much, friendsThank You..

Now I will proceed some information, my opinion and suggestion about how to overcome suicide among universities' students..

Based on the article written by James J Messina(http://www.livestrong.com/article/14720-dealing-with-suicide/#JUMP5),he wrote twelve suggestion to overcome suicide and besides the ways, he added some questions(most likely to questionnaire to that person who think suicide is the best way to solve their problems). The suggestions are simple and suitable for universities' students who are like to do the simple and save(cost, time and energy) things..

One of the way to overcome suicide suggested by James identify what distorted, irrational or unhealthy feelings are blocking your acceptance of these new healthier, more rational beliefs and keeping you from being more hopeful. Means that,as students,we must not keep thinking about our weakness or what we have done wrongly in the past. The past is the past, the future is not come yet..So, why we must waste this time we have? When we blocking our mind, then, we lost our sweet moment...don't easily take own live without try to improve own self..

In my opinion, universities' students should not waste the hope of parents...Our parents always pray for our success, but why we easily give up when our study not reach the target? All parents love their children and no parents want to see their children sadness. Then, why we let our parents cry because our stupid action(want to kill own self)? Our action start from our mind set.. Always think positive...trust our self to give the best for family especially for parents..Do not take the short way to solve small problems.. Thumbs Up

Besides the article written by James(more to change the mind set),another suggestion to overcome suicide is by hypnosis..As mention early, one of the factor of suicide is stress.. Hypnosis is one of the way to overcome stress and at the same time can safe person who are want to commit suicide because when the problem of stress is solved, other problem can be solved too...For addition of information,we can do our own hypnosis without the hypnotherapist..This link(http://www.relaxationexpert.co.uk/using-hypnosis-to-overcome-stress.html) will tell more about this hypnosis..And for Muslims, the best hypnosis(or therapy) is when we do our prayer and ask Allah for the good ways to solve our worries and stress...yes

Finally,it's no use crying over spilt milk..Do not regret what we have done in the past but appreciate the present to improve the futureRaise The Roof 1..

RESEARCH QUESTION 2

In most speculations said, the major factor of suicide is stress. Here,I add some information to approve that stress is not only the factor of suicide.

In my opinion, besides stress, another factor that related to suicide is mental disorder or schizophrenia.
.
This is based in the fact
"Other disorders found more commonly among those who committed suicide include substance disorders and schizophrenia. Even for those who have previous history of mental illness, their psychiatric condition may not be the main precipitating factor," said NSRM principal investigator Dr Nor Hayati Ali in an interview of Bernama . Dr Nor Hayati further explained that high suicide incidence among psychiatric patients had been associated with social factors such as living alone and substance misuse(http://www.mysinchew.com/node/22255?tid=14)

In addition, drug addict is one of the factor of suicide.Let’s take a look at some of the possible causes of suicide to see how addicts could be more vulnerable to this tragedy. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), substance abuse counselors need “to be aware of depression and suicide risk in their adolescent patients.”Young people are at risk. University of Pittsburgh doctors Thomas Kelly, Duncan Clark and others observed that from 1991-2000, 87%of the drug abusing adolescents they studied who had attempted suicide were also diagnosed with major depression. Among those who did not try suicide, 40% were diagnosed with depression.(http://www.drug-addiction-support.org/drug-addiction-suicide.html)

CONCLUSION FOR RESEARCH QUESTION 1

Wow!!great opinions from my friends..thank you for your responds. Here,I will add some information about the rate of suicide..

First of all, after discussing with my friends,we agreed with my opinion that male contribute more to suicide cases than female especially men who has married..The fact about this case is:"out of the 113 suicides reported in the second half of the year(2007), 82 were men, of whom 41 were married", the official Bernama news agency said, citing figures from the National Suicide Registry. The remaining 31 cases were committed by women, nine of whom were married(http://www.topnews.in/malaysian-men-top-suicide-list-2141051).

In our previous post about the student died in Pendeta Za'ba College because of contribute suicide, there has been speculation said that she was chased by her imaginary monster. Besides that, many students assume this student stress about her life in campus.

Then, about the rates from Yeen and Ayu, I agree with them. Both rates are accepted and we will put that facts in our assignment.

So, we had finished discussed about the first research question of our project. After this, Ayu will proceed for the second research question.

ARE THE SUICIDE RATE AMONG UNIVERSITIES' STUDENTS IN MALAYSIA INCREASE?

Assalamualaikum,friends..

Well,as introduction to our project,I want to discuss first about the rate of suicide among university's students in Malaysia.
Did both of you remember about the suicide case happened in Pendeta Za'ba College(a week before we registered in UKM)?That is one of the example of suicide among university's students. According to sources who knew about the tragedy, the cause of that tragedy was because of stress.

But do you know the rate of suicide?
According to (http://nahic.ucsf.edu/downloads/Suicide.pdf),young adulthood (from age 20-24,which can be classified as students) conquer the statistic of suicide rate by 12.1 per 100,000 deaths. Also, young male are much more likely to commit suicide than the young females by 20.3 per 100,000 deaths.

From the second article,(http://www.nogold.com./forum/archieve/index.php
/t-39626.html)
13.7 percent teenagers in this country, especially students, face the mental disorder which bring to commit suicide(Bernama, 15 Nov 2006).
Before I proceed to another article,I will wait for my friends' opinion about the rates of suicide.
